Post ting washer replacement - ride quality deteriorated

R1s gen2 got routine recall work of facia lamp. At that time they did 12 V battery service too. Along with that they did ting washer replacement as patient satisfaction campaign. After the service the ride does not feel the same . Feels some wobbly, feels like car may slightly wander to the left or right. Previously it used planted when high way speed. Can any body comment pls.

Coincidence. Ting washer alone would not cause this. Have alignment and suspension checked. All ting washer does is remove play from half shaft, so it isn’t free to shimmy and make noise. No effect on alignment. However, if they disassembled and reassembled suspension during service, alignment may have been altered in the process.

So they didn't do ting washers? If they did do ting washers then it is alignment issue. To add/replace ting washers the halfshaft needs to come out which would affect alignment due to the tie rods needing to be removed to move the knuckle out of the way.

Rivian brings your tire pressures up to what they should be during these services. What were they before? Sometimes the increase in pressure can have a noticeable effect on driving feel.

I've personally noticed that the window the vehicle finds acceptable generally is wide enough to mean a tire that's filled during the hottest part of summer, is still high enough that you might not get a low pressure warning in winter.

I've personally noticed that the window the vehicle finds acceptable generally is wide enough to mean a tire that's filled during the hottest part of summer, is still high enough that you might not get a low pressure warning in winter.

Good point. And now that it's colder, they might overfill to compensate. They filled mine to 53 psi not long ago. Stiffer, but shouldn't lead to instability. Instability usually point to toe.

Just an update. Getting alignment checked. This was not offered by them but I insisted and they are charging me. I’m worried if they mess up more? Is there anything specifically ask the service Centre during alignment. It seems it take 2.5 hrs. Customer satisfaction campaign turned out to be very customer dis-satisfaction campaign. They are charging for that.
