Heyo fellow Rivian owners! Ain't heard anything useful from Rivian in a while about my frunk issue, and curious if anyone else has ran into this issue. I've only found one thread about the issue and it apparently is a misalignment in their case ( https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/weird-frunk-lid-behavior.7390/ ). Although mine goes a step further that OP in that thread. This issue showed up after only owning it for 48hrs.
Whenever I open my frunk, it automatically lifts just fine, but once it reaches peak it droops down to just below halfway open. I can manually manipulate it, but it'll always droop back to the same spot. It sounds & feels like the gas struts are shot. If I press the button to auto-close, it'll fail of course. It used to close and then fail & shoot back up. It closes just fine manually. I push it down & the latch catches to get pulled in the rest of the way. It doesn't seem like it's a misalignment. Everything looks like it lines up, and - like I mentioned earlier - it sounds like it's a gas strut issue.
Not sure if anyone has any insight, but least I can do is post this for anyone else in the future who gets this same problem haha.
