Garage door opener not working intermittently

Mine has also become problematic. Probably another software update regression thing. Seems it isn't putting a high enough priority to monitoring for press of those virtual buttons.

In my case it registers the screen press (as it dims the door options) and then you have to pause to try and press again.

Not me consistently. I have to keep pushing it over and over alot.

In the past I've just had to wait when the button press doesn't operate as intended. The worst was a solid minute of just waiting in my driveway before I could drive off, trying to get my garage door to close..

Today, the garage door press is not working. I tap it and it doesn't dim, flicker, or pinwheel. Nothing. For the first time I had to get out of my car and punch in the code to the wall mounted opener on my house so I could leave. I even did a software restart but no help. I see others on here saying they reprogramed their garage door opener on the Rivian and that fixed it, but mine doesn't even appear to be attempting to transmit. Also, what PITA to reprogram your door every time it doesn't work.

I opened a ticket and shared the experience with my guide, but they didn't respond saying they are aware of the issue or anything. Just that it was good I opened a ticket.

Rivian called me today and agreed it must be a software/infotainment system issue and not a signal issue. Advised I do an infotainment reset (two outside thumb buttons on the steering wheel for 10 seconds) but I had already done that the day I submitted the request. It didn't help. So he asked me to try a truck reset (left outside thumb button and hazard button for 10 seconds) the next time it happens and to mark the time it happens, the time whenI initiate the reset, and the time when the truck powers back on, AND the time I try to use the garage door opener again after that. They will use that time stamp info to pull information from my truck. They want me to call the hotline for all of this. 855-RIVIAN-5 if you didn't know that number already. Hopefully all this effort goes to fixing my garage door woes and possibly yours

Same thing happening again. I would have to keep pressing it a bunch of times before it would work. I believe it has to do with rolling codes and it not synching up. I just use Alexa now to open and close my garage for now

I thought I remembered a thread on this and it popped up again today. Seems like I have a slightly different problem as when I tap on the garage door name I always get the pinwheel. But it used to work from a few hundred feet away and now much of the time I have to pull right up to the door, almost touching it, before it will open. A soft reset doesn't seem to change anything. I tried a hard reset yesterday and it worked from the end of the driveway, but that was only maybe 30-40 ft. I still need to get a list together and submit tickets for all the minor issues I've had since delivery...guess this is just one more to add.

Anyone ever solve this? My wife has problems on her S intermittently. Its registers the button press but does not operate door. My T works flawlessly.

I have a brand new R1s and same issue. Deleted and re-paired garage multiple times. Seems like every 3rd or 4th press makes it work

I thought mine was not working well at first, I think I was pressing too long or too many times.

I started just doing 1 quick tap when the option shows up and it has worked flawlessly since I started that.

Have same issue. Quick tap, long tap, near, far, any combination… at best I get a 50% success rate. Soon happens so it registered the press, just doesn’t do anything. . I’ve resorted to keeping a remote opener in the car. If it fails to work I tap the regular opener and it instantly works. Definitely a rivian problem.
