Gary not working

Gear Guard on. Incidents, Motion Cam, Alarm all on. Locked R1T, walked away. Back with no phone, card or fob. Tried to open driver side front and rear doors. Could see the Gary animation on the screen. Nothing recorded, no alarm, no nothing. Why?

I thought that was just for the infotainment system. The left button and flasher button reboots the computer.

Anyone seeing this issue since the latest OTA update? I've never had any buggy updates in the past, but since this one I've had the car repeatedly forget my seat and steering wheel settings, got a black center screen while driving (once), and now Gear Guard not picking up motion, even though it is working when I hit the record button manually on the road (meaning it's not my storage device). I've done soft resets a couple times, which seemed to fix the seat/steering wheel settings issue, but doesn't seem to help with GearGuard motion detection. Wondering if it's a common bug at all with this OTA for Gen 1's.

I noticed this as well. Recording nothing or at least not showing it. Definitely would have picked up. Did a soft reset but that didn’t help.

Yes... all my gear guard videos are gone... and it says "nothing here yet" on the screen. Did the reset and they kinda came back, but a lot of days were missing. This has done this three times already, where I look for the videos and nothing. Reset brings back temporarly. Gary is filming, but he ain't sharing...

Same here, I wondered if my drive was full or something, I was planning to format it this weekend and restart, but looks to be widespread.

I have to reset the infotainment system(RIGHT & LEFT BUTTONS) every other day now, since the big update that added the cel shading... gear-guard drive cam just stop working and the soft reset fix it for a day or two. SC told me to wait for the next update but the last two updated didn't help. Cool animations tho... NOT.

Thank god I reset the system yesterday because I needed it a couple hours later to record that piece of HD goodness(a potato would have been better..)

I plan to chat with Rivian service about it on the app. at some point, but I've been so busy I haven't really had time yet. But it's still not working properly, so I'd at least like to get the complaint in to them so they are tracking how prevalent the bug is and prioritize a fix.
