This is from Facebook (not me). I am looking for confirmation or (hopefully) rejection of this:

A Rivian BC guide just informed (me) that the gen 2 (2025) models will not be available in Canada until the end of the year, so "preorder price voucher will not apply as it will definitely be after Sept 30th.".

It already won't unless one randomly ended up on the shop, which has now been clarified to be the only way the voucher is valid.

Are we talking R1T or R1S or either?

Are 2025 R1S models not available in the Canadian shop? Plenty available in my shop so if they are not then not sure why Rivian wouldn't want to book sales to Canadian customers.

Someone said they are approved for Canadian because a refresh does not require reapproval but I wonder if the changes are significant to require them to be re-qualified, especially with the changes to the headlights and turn signals.

No. IMO they are just using the Canadian market to liquidate the balance of 2023-2024 inventory of R1S. We waited so long to get access to these trucks that some may be incline to take whatever is available… R1T is even worst if there is still a large overstock not even showing in the Shop yet.

This reaffirms what I've heard. I have a custom Gen2 order and my portal says Sept-Oct. That said when I chatted with Rivian, they said it's more like Nov-Dec for Canada.

Like the previous poster mentioned I think they are hoping to liquidate the remaining inventory in Canada seeing as the inventory in the shop has gone up significantly. Rivian is out to lunch though, pricing in Canada is so out of whack unless they discount further they won't move any of these with any degree of volume for it to have made sense to send them up here.

Ugh, Canada is an afterthought, like always.

I’m ready to buy now, but if I have to wait that long, I might as well wait for the EV9 to gain Supercharger access. Who knows, maybe the EV5 will be out by then.

If you are looking at EV5 it's not really anything close to an R1...

I just need a certain amount of cargo space and Supercharger access. Whatever gets there first gets my money. I definitely would like an R1S, but I’m not going to wait around for it if something else reasonable comes along. (No, I don’t want a Gen 1).

Before you buy a Kia make sure you understand how E-GMP cars behave on the SC network. My understanding is not great, maybe that will improve in the future but likely means only new updated SC hardware when available that supports higher voltage.

I say that as an owner of an Ioniq 5 but I haven't used it on a magic dock.

MachE is there no? Probably larger or same as EV5 or equinox.

Anyway, maybe your location is special in some way but I have been happy with CCS. No issues more locations than superchargers in my area (Ontario/Quebec).
