Got a call out of the Blue that Rivian wants to replace the battery.

Supposedly the battery can short circuit and the vehicle will be undrivable. Anyone else?

The big battery. In the initial call Rivian left a message and did use the word recall. A neighbor of mine got his 3 weeks before me and hasn't heard anything.

Mine is an R1T but similar build time, early June, purchased in July 2023.

I did get a whole bunch of weird battery errors once when my battery dropped below 5% (it seemed to suddenly go from ~5% to 1% then 0% as I made it the last couple miles to the charger - seemed to do this after I switched from conserve back to all purpose thinking I had plenty of battery for the last 1-2 miles).

Wonder if there is any way of knowing/checking this. I do have service scheduled for the 10th, maybe I should add this to my request.

I spoke with Rivian today and it is not specific to my vehicle according to the person I spoke with. It sounds like they have a range of VIN numbers that may be affected. I have 2 neighbors who received their R1S's around the same time and they have not been contacted.
Also, he did say that this is not imminent and it is just something that has potential to have a problem.

We have a March, 2023 production R1T (vin: 224xx). We have not heard any from Rivian and Opal is charging and operating well.
