Hard reset doesn’t work

Update, the mobile tech refused to try the 12v reset stating it might brick the car… still working with SC as now I don’t have a service date and they won’t call me back :(

Another fun symptom while this is down is that it won’t let me use Rivian super chargers… drove up the Schweitzer Mountain in ID, from Tri-Cities WA for new years on a 3.4 hour drive, tried to use Rivian stations and no go, it tells me my Rivian account needs attention. Ended up at Electrify America and EV connect which worked fine… really getting annoyed ?

Consider double-checking that your credit card on file with Rivian is the one you think, @Nuse.Rae. Sometimes there's more than one thing going wrong.

There is no such thing as Rivian super charger. You mean RAN? Or are you talking about Tesla?

I haven’t tried a RAN with my R1T that’s having the issue. Luckily we travel with my wife’s R1S.

I would bet you are looking at faulty hardware not software like one of the prior post mentions.

I had a mobile tech pretty much brick my truck trying to do a reset. It worked in turtle mode to get me to the SC where they fixed it. Fortunately, I am pretty close.

My issue was a module in the external antenna not allowing the driver+ to engage. Lots of effort on software, including the remote turtle incident, before they wanted to mess with hardware. Other than the reset making it worse, I appreciated that as replacing the module and it still not working would have been worse. which Rivian told me has happened with similar issues, so they run down every know software effort first.

now, your issue is one I had too, but the infotainment reset fixed it. Only happened once, knock on wood. So the other post mentioning the hazard lights module along with my driver+ issue is where I get my amateur diagnosis.

@goodoljake you may be correct. I just got the vehicle down to the SC in Tualatin Oregon yesterday. The techs got it reconnected and were inspecting the rear antenna. They mentioned it look like someone had tampered with the antenna. I just purchased this vehicle from an out of state dealership and was told the vehicle had a completely clear history. Now I’m concerned they knew there was an issue and that’s why I got such a great deal! They have not finished the inspection yet … actively messaging me but it sounds like it was the hardware at the antenna NOT the software? I’ll update once I get the full information, if so I’ll be calling Wolf Auto of Whitefish MO to discuss the findings! Rivian has been amazing to work with at the SC was given a loaner R1S , they have been awesome ?

My truck had this issue- dropped it off at the SC yesterday, within a few hours the app was blowing up with alerts up so I knew it was reconnected. SC called me last night to say the 12v's reset worked and the truck is ready for me to pick it up. They also installed the latest update to make sure there'd be no issues during/after that. I can't get back to pick it up until Saturday but fingers crossed it was as simple as a reset and I have no further issues.

Wanted to check... How did Rivian fix this issue. I have a Gen 1 R1S... and I have the Same exact issue on my R1S....
