BTW, the car sold at auction for about 5k (netted by SF no less so no wonder why they had no problem making us whole as they are also going after the other driver's insurance (GEICO (which by the way kept calling US to get us to sign something directly with them. very sleazy)). everything not safety related still worked. just needed some body work and it'll get shipped to a developing country to resale.
Yep. My personal experience with SF is that if you have multiple policies with them and have been with them a long time, they generally try to maintain your level of satisfaction. Also, exact same experience with previous car when it was rear ended by a kid insured by GEICO. Months of calls without any offers of settlement and multiple release forms received (without any offers or discussions on settlement). If not designed to trick the less vigilant into signing, before settlement is reached, I don't know what purpose it served.

State Farm here, continuously since 1990 (if not earlier). My experience with claims has been excellent.

Here's the one time I had to advocate for myself: In 2007, our new Toyota Sienna was stolen from our driveway. When it hadn't turned up in a month, the State Farm adjuster said she would authorize payment for a comparable used vehicle. My response: "Let's see. It's seven weeks old. It only has 1500 miles on it. It didn't have any problems at all. Who SELLS such a vehicle?"

The adjuster hardly took any time to reflect before she said, "You're right. I'll authorize the value of a new one." And she did that.

Even with two crashes and one theft, all in 2007, State Farm didn't raise our rates. I'm loyal.

Best to all!

Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.
I’m sorry this happened to you. Was Gear Guard not activated? No video cameras in the local area?
