I had to remove the frunk tray to install the second horn that the Rivian bean counter removed in production.
The Road Runner “”meep meep” was embarrassing. I used a 500HZ PIAA horn - made in Japan. It is now respectable.

After putting everything back together, the hood would not close all the way. It would stop about eight inches from closing and go back up.
The Rivian tech came to my house to adjust the sensors. He said the sensors are in bottom side trim of the hood. If it touches one of the side trays it will go back up.

Rivian R1T R1S Hood wouldn't close hood-sensor

One of the back plastic rivets was not quite seated and one of the sensor covers on the hood had become dislodged.

The session ended up costing me $117.00 but he did do and inspection under the vehicle, checked tire pressures, and adjusted a window travel to eliminate a wind noise issue.

The time saved from going in for service was worth it.

Glad to read that mobile service is so good.

As an aside, I'm always happy for the gentle "meep meep" when backing up at the cafe, not to blast people out of their seats. It's something I've wanted in other vehicles, especially EVs.

The PIAA addition made it "respectable". Somewhere between blast and anemic. I've had too many close calls to settle for anemic.

Any service call by any tech for anything @ that price is a deal. Then add that what was done worked and other stuff was also done says to me that Rivian home service is still the fantastic deal it was when I last used it.

Rivian is a 5 Star vehicle, staff & company.

The same happened to my R1S. Service tech said a pin or something to that effect in the frunk rear was sticking out somewhat, no longer fully seated. Took him at most 10 sec. to fix frunk not closing.

Tech's are experts, I respect tradesmen, they earn their keep and that is their job. Thanking them is our job as consumers, I find that mutual respect gets results!

I've always said that you are paid for what you know - not what you do. Plus, he had travel time.
I think I saved a lot of people $117.
