So the hotspot setup says “Unavailable due to no or limited connectivity”. Yet the LTE shows a full signal. I can’t toggle to off/on and try again (disabled). Maybe a reset will fix it?

I’m in a ferry line so can’t do that just yet

In this case rebooting fixed it so it was clearly a Rivan bug, but a strong cell signal is not necessarily incompatible no/limited connectivity.

Poor signal always results in a poor connection, but a strong signal does not necessarily mean there is going to be internet.

Those bars just show how loudly it hears the cell tower. If you are standing right next to a cell tower that is connected to a cut fiber optic cable, you will have five bars of signal but zero usable internet connectivity.

True, but in this case other connected services were working (music, nav), so it wasn’t for lack of connectivity.

Shoot… I’m too late to suggest “have you tried rebooting your modem?” [common Comcast internet support step] ?

I had this same thing happen some time after my latest software update! I also did a soft reset, and it solved the problem. I haven't encountered the issue again.
