Yeah, my Samsung Galaxy 24 Ultra does not have that screen. Samsung has One UI sitting on top of the stock Android, maybe that's why.
Yes, you do. S24 Ultra here as well.

Yeah google works great except you have to be using the bluetooth audio from it. I use to use it in my previous car playing music over bluetooth but now I like to use the spotify app on the truck natively...

In the past, I've also had to toggle off Media (or Audio) in the Bluetooth settings so that Waze alerts are played by the phone and not through the car (which you will not hear if listening to the radio, Spotify, etc.). Just leave the Bluetooth setting for Calls turned on.

Allstate drivewise app. Also had the same thing with USAA.
I have Allstate as well and was reluctant to do the "Drivewise" thing because I've always viewed speed limits as "general guidelines" rather than as laws. As I was working with my local agent to reduce my insurance cost he told me that signing up for Drivewise will give me about a 15% discount just for signing up - with additional discounts for being a conservative driver. So - you're getting something, just perhaps not as much as you could be, but I think the incremental discounts are pretty minimal.

I have seen discounts of over 20 percent with these save driving tools. I have a very clean driving record and am a habitual cruise control user at about 2-3 miles over the speed limit.

People know what times I drive to and from work and they know if they text me, more than likely they won't get a response back until I stop somewhere or get home.

If it is important, that person will call me. If I do get a call while I am driving and I don't recognize the number, I let it go to voicemail. Everyone I would want to talk to have their numbers in my contacts.

I have heard rumors (for almost a year now) that we will get native text messaging notifications on our infotainment.

I will never use one of those devices. The commercials sound nice and flowery and "save money", but to be truthful, they will use it to set your insurance rate.

"Oh, I see you consistently drive 70 to 75 instead of the posted 65....that will cost you".

"Oh, I see you drive a lot on the weekends to places over 200 miles......oooh......ahhhh, that will cost you"

I'm waiting to see if that is indeed true. I have twin daughters who are 17, so what I pay in car insurance is astronomical to begin with, and then when we added the R1S last August I think I heard my agent gasp at the cost of insuring it. As it is, I'm the only one (out of 4) in the family who has Drivewise on my phone and it's saving me just under 11% (I finally got around to adding it up) and my premium didn't change with my last renewal in February. For me the discount seems to be worth it. If, when I renew in August, I see that my premium goes up unreasonably due to the factors you mention, it will probably be time for me to go insurance shopping...

The only advantage of texting, from my view, is that you can answer at your leisure. If it's an urgent matter, they'll call. I like being somewhat disconnected from everything but the road while driving.

that makes sense. All my children are older (32, 31, 28, 25) and all have their own insurance. I would have a heart attack if I was paying for their insurance.

I've been gifted with four daughters - 33, 29, and the 17-year old twins. It was a nice change taking the older two off our policy before the twins were driving. I did have fun with my insurance agent when adding the twins to my policy. One got her license a week before the other. When I added the first, my premium went up by around $300. When I added the second it "only" increased about $100. I asked the agent to take the first one off told her that just the second one would drive and she replied: "You do know that it doesn't work that way, right?" I did.

On short trips I simply wait till I get to my location.

On medium to long trips I wear my Apple Watch to receive the text, and I wait till I'm stopped to send the text.

Luckily the only one that regularly will text me is my GF, and we're at the point in the relationship where it's nice to have an excuse not to text back. :p
