Two ways to look at it.

1) entitled douchebag wrecks a $200k car for views
2) over-excited dude trying to have fun with his new toy picks the wrong road but has a good attitude even after an obviously devastating loss

While both have some validity, which one you pick says more about you than the guy in the video.

Maybe I'm just too jaded from spending so much time on the internet, but I'm fairly confident it's more #1 than #2.

If that makes me an asshole, fine. Still doesn't change my mind that this idiot is a wasteful tool. I guess we can both ask Dante for directions ?

It could be a combination of 1/2 and he genuinely was out documenting his first ride in his new Hummer with his friends. I guess that's the price of doing business to be popular on YT (documenting every moment of your life for clicks on the internet) and I will sit back and enjoy a nice tall glass of schadenfreude.:giggle:

Hummer forum says he was in WTF mode, which is basically on the bump stops and definitely not meant to be used off-road. Truck might have survived if it was in the highest suspension mode.

My $0.02? I think this guy just did a public service for those of us giddy about getting a R1 and taking it off-road. The speed and acceleration of my Model 3 was stunning, and for someone who’s never dealt with acceleration like that before I could see the car being a hazard. That wasn’t me, so it was always enjoyable. But I’ve never off-roaded before. I always planned to carefully learn and to stay within my capabilities, but this is a great reminder that you don’t know what you don’t know!

Ah ha. My first thought was “the Hummer sure doesn’t seem off-road capable”, but this would explain a lot.…

Anyone see what he actually hit/ran over? Looked pretty flat there..... (yes I see he was in low suspension mode).

I vote "tool"... if I just totaled a $200K vehicle where I was 100% at fault I certainly wouldn't want a video log published on YT.

Reminds me of the "flying Tesla" idiot....

Yes, after the impact they go back to pick up the parts and you can see the wash he hit, which was the result of a flow from a large drainage pipe (which, when he’s looking back from where he drove, is to the right; it was to his left when he was driving). Looked like a fairly steep (a few feet) drop right across the “road.”

He's about as smart as this guy playing monster truck jump with a stock Raptor.

Well said, sir. Reminds me of what my grandfather used to say-"the best lesson is learning from someone else's mistake."
