Horn to the Rivian Toy Division.
I don't use my horn very often, but when I do I always feel like this is the car I am driving. It's embarrassing / laughable every time I need to use it. Hoping they do better with R2. 😆

BTW, I thought R1 was supposed to automatically capture drive cam video into the Road Cam tab when I used my horn. It did not.

I wonder if the G2 is not as loud as the G1, my horn is pretty loud, notice it more with the windows down.

The horn does capture video in mine but only for a long press, maybe a second, a short toot does not capture video.

My horns are all fine. Maybe you should complain about the traffic that is around you ignoring yours.

The automatic capture requires two seconds of pressing it. It's in the manual.

I've found it's best to make extra sure by laying on the horn for a solid minute or two.

Asshole in an M3 cut me off today and I basically fell asleep on my horn. Dash cam capture success!

Horns seem quieter from inside a well-sealed vehicle. Our Rivians are certainly well sealed.

Best wishes!

You probably know this already, but earlier models had two physical horns. Later models (manufactured after around mid 2023) only had one. Seems like extreme "penny pinching" to me, but obv. like everyone else here, I want the company to survive.

There's a variety of aftermarket horn upgrades available. Have you considered one of those?

You must have been too nice with the horn if Gary didnt record. Use your horn to make a point. Don't be afraid to lay on it. Every time I use the horn it records.

With that said I could use a stronger horn as well.

I was looking for another Red Green clip regarding horns, but found this one instead. Should have enough room in the frunk to implement this??

Rest assured whatever engineer was dealing with the horn probably suffered more rage than anyone unimpressed by it because the outcome is both obvious and easily tested. They probably knew exactly what would happen and that they'd get blamed for it but were hamstrung by cost cutting or the fact Rivian already had orders for 34000 of the original ones and they were told to do whatever they could with one per vehicle.

Look for the MBA.

Exactly. This was almost certainly NOT an engineering decision. It was a bean counter.

You don’t think they were reassigned to phone charger? Glove box? 😁

To be fair, almost everything else is great.
