So (writing this on my phone so excuse any typos or grammar errors).
This weekend we went up to the Jemez Mountains and did an overnight.
Beautiful day, wonderful weather. 70’s and sunny. 8000 feet and the sun is strong.
I walk by the truck and the fan is running.
Turn it off and walk away. Truck locks and fan comes on again.
Now I didn’t want it to run as we are off grid with no charging for tons of miles.
I don’t know how much the fan will use, but I didn’t want it to run for 4-5 hours till sunset.
I found that if I turn off proximity locking and left it unlocked it wouldn’t come on.
I ended up moving to a shady spot, but what if I’m out at White Sands with zero shade? (see my profile photo).
Is there a way to keep cooling off and the car locked?
Or is the drain minimal and I shouldn’t worry too much?
Will it really damage my screens? It seems hot cars have been around a long time.
thanks all
photo is when I moved it to shade
(also: can odometer be moved to driver screen?)
and yes I did have enough range to easily get back, but I like to have control of my car being on or not…and there are trips that will be more challenging with round trip range.
