I have observed when I open a door at night when the doors were unlocked and the vehicle in sleep mode the interior map lights do not come on. The accent lighting does come on. If the car was just unlocked and not asleep the map lights work as intended. Is there a setting for this or is this a bug. Mobile service has no clue. The fact that the accent lights come on when asleep suggest it should be possible

MIne does the same... I just wait to the display wakes up, close the door, and then re-open it. Works like normal than.

Mine does the same, as did my Tesla before. It's very annoying, and seems like a step in the wrong direction from something we figured out a long time ago. Doors open = lights on... shouldn't be that hard.

I don't want to re-enable proximity sensing at home. If anyone finds out another solution, please let us know.

While everyone is experiencing the same behavior and while it is only a minor inconvenience I would say this is a bug or oversight since the computer is smart enough to turn on the accent lighting when you enter the vehicle when it is asleep, that line of code in the program could just as easily turn on the interior lights as well

Yes I do not want proximity sensing when at home because I am often working out in the yard and don’t want to keep walking the vehicle up

same, Gen 2. I also notice that map lights come on when opening the front doors but not the rears. I attribute it to a bug. My Gen 1 didn’t do this.
