Introducing the R1 Shop... Email Communication

Right now, pre-update, we have two groups of R1S orders: 1) 2022 windows; and 2) 2023 windows. Each group is “some” of the R1S preorder population.

So if all of group 1 is moving to 2023, it would be technically accurate to say “some” R1S preorders are moving to 2023 even if that means there will be no deliveries in 2022.

Do I think that is necessarily going to happen? No. But the Monday email will remain technically accurate if they move all R1S deliveries to next year.

I would consider there to be three distinct groups of R1S orders:
1. Those with guides assigned and PBAs signed who are in/past their delivery windows.
2. Those with 2022 windows who have not been contacted by a guide.
3. Those with 2023 windows.

I said before I think group 2 is likely to be those who are going to end up moved to 2023. If they aren't able to get at least some of group 1 delivered this year it will be a major disappointment.

I'm very curious to see how (or perhaps more appropriately, IF) scenarios such as mine will be accounted for:

• I originally placed a reservation for an R1T with a Max Pack in late 2020
• In Dec 2021 I was told "1st Half 2023" (which of course, due to the Max Pack, means no earlier than 1H2023)
• A few months ago I decided I don't need/want the Max anymore and switched to a Large pack

Amongst the many questions to be answered, does that mean I'm ahead of other Large Pack reservation holders who got a reservation after me? (I think so based on what I recall from other threads) Or am I sent to the back because I changed my pack size relatively recently?

I reached out to CS through email after I changed my pack size to understand how/if this impacted my timing at all, but I never heard back and decided to wait for things to progress.

Oh wow I would have expected the delivery windows to go out before the shop invites but I guess that would make too much sense.

How can you weigh giving up your desired config if you don't have any idea how long you'll have to wait for it?

It's honestly bizarre that there are any configurations that deliver sooner than a Launch Green with Black Mountain interior and the 20" A/T wheels/tires. One would think Launch Edition R1T reservation holders wouldn't even need the shop, especially ones with guide contact.

Yeah I'm honestly a little shocked that you'd be getting a shop invite with that config. I can't imagine there are many LG/BM orders out there who haven't gotten contacted yet as it's probably one of if not the most popular LE config.
