I’m not sure that’s true.

I covered this in an earlier post, but here it is again…I’m a late, 06/2026 reservation, with a lease ending in July ‘27. The lease was uploaded at time of reservation. Not a R1 owner, but 2ea EV6 owner. We’ve had 3 demo drives and 4th is Monday 08/17. Keep focusing on different things during each demo, trying to learn as much as I can on their dime, so to speak.

Our OG estimated invite dates were Dec-Feb. Tuesday it dropped to Sep-Oct. I’d order now if they’d invite me. But as I said in that earlier post, I’m ordering Forest Green w/Coastal Cloud and the 20’s, so I may be waitlisted anyway.

No, I’m not waiting for Gen3 hardware and Lidar. They’ve said that the Gen 2.5 (if you will), will get nearly everything Gen3 will. I’m not holding out for full autonomy as I like driving myself. But I will use on-ramp to off-ramp when it’s available, but still participate in controlling the drive.

I'd also like to pick it up at the factory and break it in on the trip back to Las Vegas, after a side trip to see my daughter near Pittsburgh, PA.

Of course, another date change is always possible. I don’t know how they are prioritizing order invites.

I am sorry for those day 1, R1 owners who haven’t gotten their invite yet.

Well, I spoke with a CSR and they told me about the lease ending priority thing so just going by that. There’s other criteria too I know but I don’t know all the factors. Edit: I just went ahead and paid off my 2024 MY loan and sold a bit of stock so I’ll be ready to pay cash when they let me - maybe that will speed things up at some point!

Yeah this last batch this week hit about 04:30 pst on Tuesday.

I was moved up from Aug-Sept to Order Now.
I guess maybe that’s not much of a move up since it was the initial window

My friend was invited to order within the first week of order openings - he had two leased EVs that were about to end and one of the being his R1T.

I just got my invite this morning. We were both day 1 (probably first few minutes) folks.

I got the email 2 weeks ago and my invite came today, so I think it likely does mean something.
