I feel your excitement in this post. ? You've gotten some good recommendations for gear already (bed mat, floor liners, etc.). Personally I'd also recommend these matte screen protectors. Really like them and have gotten some compliments on them already:

They can be a b... to install though. Just like the floor mats (if you get the Rivian ones, let them warm up before trying to stretch them into place). Enjoy your new truck!

Congrats @jc9000. I'm in roughly the same boat in having started the 8-Step process for a new Rivian, though in my case it's an RS1, err R1S.

I had the mats and cross-bars in my configured reservation, but wound up choosing a Launch Edition from the R1 Shop that has neither accessory. My guide tells me that both now have to be ordered from the Gear Shop, and that they've lowered the pricing to match pre-March values. I don't yet have a delivery date for the R1S, so haven't placed a Gear Shop order (or even checked to see if my guide is correct about the pricing). Do I need to put that order in ASAP or are Gear Shop deliveries fairly timely?

I also had all that on my preorder and wound up getting my R1T from the R1 shop without those. I ordered the crossbars and mats about the same time.. they showed up in a week or so.

Fellow Charlottean waiting on their Rivian as well. Here’s to hoping I don’t need the service center!

Did you try facing the bikes in the opposite direction to see if they would fit that way?
I just got my bike racks and installing backwards over the bed is a better option than the roof. Installing the bike racks forwards on top of the bed doesn’t give enough room. Worst case scenario is to put on my Yakima hitch rack if I’m putting my kids’ bikes on too.

Remember when loading ANYTHING on the roof, that glass is fragile. See other posts about how easily it breaks.
I put my racks on the bed, then on the roof. Didn't like the look in either spot. Now they're in the garage. If I haul my bike, I'm going with the hitch rack as others have said. Much easier to load/unload.
22" road tires and wheels, so mine is a street truck in So Cal.

Got the email telling me to upload documents for my new RT1.

What suggestions do people have to be 'ready' ? Ordered the wall charger, that is shipping out today!!!

EXCITED..

Get the utility mats? Do some cycling, get the roof mounts? Lemme know what I should be thinking and prepping for?

Have a charger installed at my office building?

Share!!!

Get PPT. If not for the whole truck, protect the front at the very least. The front collects a lot of bugs and PPT protects all the paint from all that stuff.

Can someone tell me what the magnets do ?
Actual answer- just to hold up the frunk's split lower panel than covers the deeper well where the portable EVSE is.
Or was it for the front license plate?
