That's not a Wiener, that's a Gold Retriever.
People here think manufacturing $70k-$100k vehicles is the same as the “take a number” system at my barber.Ford, Tesla, Rivian, Arcimoto. And those are just the ones I know about from direct personal experience.
Ruh Roh. "Rick Roll" incoming!Don't worry, Rivian. It's Valentine's Day.
I'm never gonna give you up.
Yep. I placed my F-150 Lightning reservation *DURING* the launch event, within an hour of the reservation website going live.People here think manufacturing $70k-$100k vehicles is the same as the “take a number” system at my barber.
That sucks, I ordered after you and my lightning Lariat came in last year in July. I ultimately didn't buy it because I already had my Rivian, but Ford's delivery system doesn't seem much better than Rivian in terms of prioritizing early orders.Yep. I didn't even get my "invite to order" until after multiple people I know received their trucks who placed reservations months after I did.
Wow. I have a 12/14/21 order date and I am still listed for the first quarter of 24. They sell it to you at less than it cost to make. Don't be silly take the money. TThis post pains me a lot to write, but...
I got my R1S reservation in December '21, and was told then to expect a 2nd half - 23 delivery. Then the next iteration of delivery schedules come out in October (I believe), and it slips to first half of '24. Then, last months delivery schedule announcement pushes it out to 2nd half of 24, of which I now expect to be November- December of 24, at the earliest.
On top of my anticipated three year wait, I see that many new reservation holders have jumped the line, in Rivian's attempt to generate higher revenue per vehicle. I would love to have a Rivian, and I love the looks of them as I see them driving down the road. But, you know, life moves on, and I have found better things to do with my money, and I agreed with my wife that maybe we should forego the Rivian in favor of those things.
So I am not going to take the Rivian. I am really ticked off at Rivian because of this. IMO, these pushbacks have been Riv's way of saying to us pre-price increase orders "Yes, you can have your Rivian, but F-You, you'll get it when we want you to get it, and only after everyone else gets theirs." I feel part of their motivation is to push these out as long as possible to force us either to cancel, or ship only when it is convenient for them.
So I am not going to cancel my order. Instead, sometime after I get my 8-steps notification, and only before I absolutely have to pay for the Rivian, will I cancel. This is my F-You back to them. I know it's minor, I know they don't really care and will just move my reservation to the next one in line but it's the only little thing I can do. After all, if I cancel now, then RJ, Sandy, and others can just point to my cancellation as evidence that pushing deliveries out for us is working. I am not going to give them that little bit of satisfaction.
