Mine finally arrived yesterday from Amazon. 2 day shipping my A$$! Amazon has given up on prompt shipping in our area. Put the USB-C to USB adaptors in and the charger literally dropped right in and it charges two phones no problem. Easy fix!

Mine finally arrived yesterday from Amazon. 2 day shipping my A$$! Amazon has given up on prompt shipping in our area. Put the USB-C to USB adaptors in and the charger literally dropped right in and it charges two phones no problem. Easy fix!

Maybe to keep the phone from sliding forward? It fits either way. I will mess with mine in both configurations.

More likely to slide forward with the reverse install as the phone is angled down, vs up for better viewing when installed per OP picts.

So do we have any idea if Rivian is going to retrofit all the existing "poorly working" chargers when they obviously redesign this charging pad? It's sad that for such a expensive car this has to be done in the first place, as inventive as all these solutions are.

I have an open ticket. Reported it via the app. EVERYONE should be reporting this via the app!! And I mean, EVERYONE!

Reported it a couple months ago and Rivian called me and said "we know it doesn't work well, but that's just the way it is" then they closed the ticket.

I'm curious if anyone got a different answer?

I was told they they want to leave my ticket open to force Engineering to revisit. Open tickets, people, open tickets!

Why the backwards install?

LOL... I think it actually fits better in this orientation with the shorter end facing the front of the vehicle... the phone actually needs to be as far forward as possible or else the center console cover hides part of the iPhone screen. YMMV.

Either orientation is a big improvement over stock setup!
