Pics? Ceramic coating does not protect from rock chips as you probably know. It does enhance the gloss and make for easier maintenance though.

Unfortunately ceramic coat does nothing to protect from rock chips. If that’s a concern for you you’ll need PPF on the front end.

Grats, but as others said PPF is the one that helps against rock chips. Some folks (myself included) get a PPF wrap, and then have ceramic coating applied on top of it to try and get the most protection from rock chips and contaminates.

I wonder who is out there selling ceramic as a rock protector??? That and the price make me do my own. About to today, have it stripped and polished and ready for final clay and ceramic.

Hope you have better luck then I did. I spent on a complete custom (not precut) Xpel Stealth wrap then added something like $2k worth of xpel ceramic on top of that. Was supposed to take it in for a recoat at the one year mark. Brought it in at 18 months and the guy tells me I only have 30% ceramic coverage left, gonna be another $2k to redo it. No thanks. I'm in South Florida and the truck sits outside 100% of the time.

The wrap is awesome, but 100% unimpressed with the ceramic coating.

I bought a spray-on-wipe-off ceramic coat solution and you can tell a real difference with just one application. After a follow-up application (or two) you really can't tell a $1000 difference.

Ceramic is like a more perm wax on your clear coat. As others said, it will do nothing for rock chips.

Your installer should have told you that, you can reapply a ceramic booster every now and then to help keep the coating good.

I traded in my Tesla two years after doing Avalon King ceramic, and it was still effective. Car lived outside.
