Just Reserved My R2

Love the timing on this. With oil and gas prices doing what they’re doing — and the R2 reveal next week — I went ahead and reserved my R2 today to get in line.

The queue is going to be long, which is exactly what we want. By the time mine comes up, production will be humming, early kinks worked out, and yes — my R2 will have LIDAR.

I absolutely love my R1T and plan to keep it until the new R2 shows up in the driveway. This time I’m going Tri instead of Dual. I’ll sort out color and options when the configurator opens.

I thought about it, but I really wanted the R3. Eventually I put down an R2 reservation last year seeing how far away the R3 might be (2028?) It was better for me to wait since my old ICE vehicle was on its last legs (16 years, 276,000 miles) and I ended up leasing a Model 3 in the meantime. The lease is up at the end of 2027. Can’t wait! My wife needs a new car as well. We’re both hoping to lease with a buyout.

Currently have a reservation, but would prefer to move it to the R3. Has there been any word on whether or not they'll offer that (or will it be cancel, and file a new reservation)? Wouldn't mind being at the front of the R3x line.

Most likely gonna be its own reservation line.

My R1S was $92K MSRP, $72K after pre-order voucher, Trade-in Value is about the price of the launch Edition. I can't see eating that that depreciation ($15-20K) for an R2

No reservation for R3 yet. RJ is saying estimated to come out in 2028. They’ll probably do an update after R2 has its heyday and they have more info on the Georgia plant where it will be made.
