I'm sure this has been covered before. Just venting how Rivian can't this right. -
Approach the car- 80% of the time doors do not open, have to take the phone out,
-Doors unlocked and after a very short time (seems like 10-15 seconds at times) the doors lock and once again have to take the phone out
-Doors unlocked, lower the tailgate to load some stuff and the doors lock themselves shortly thereafter.

Rivian: please copy the other manufactures to get this right, this is not a new feature for automakers. Not asking for 100% predictability, I would honestly be happy with 80%.

It is slightly irritating to wait a few seconds for the truck to recognize my phone when I walk up, but phone as a key works significantly better with my R1T than it ever did with my Mach E. So Rivian…please don’t copy Ford ?

Do you keep your phone in your back pocket? My Tesla phone-key experience was awful until I realized it was just my fat @$$ was blocking the signal.

Once I starting putting the key(phone) in the same pocket I would have put a key FOB it suddenly became extremely reliable.

Rivian got so much right, but they really messed up some of the *easy* stuff like locking/unlocking the damn truck. I don't know what they were thinking by completely foregoing some sort of physical or capacitive button on the door handles. Incredibly frustrating oversight.
