Kneel is equal to low ride height, lowest is .6 inches below that, I verified on my R1S with a tape measure as a lot of the time I will put it in sport lowest for the pups to jump in and out.So “sport mode” is just the lowest setting under standard (press the down button all the way)? or does it actually make the suspension and handling stiffer/different?
Anyone know what the height in inches is for sport, normal or high and kneel?
It may be totally fine. I am sure Rivian tested the air suspension to longevity. Its just my personal preference to avoid constant adjustments.I wont keep the Rivian past the warranty, so I use kneel.
I haven’t heard of any running boards negating the battery warranty. Definitely wouldn’t have installed mine if that was the case.
Running boards would certainly be an awesome addition. This is simply not true. They would have to prove that the installation of the running boards was the cause of any failure.
I had been driving around in low rather than auto for months because it made entry and egress easier (this was before kneel mode). Then I red somewhere (here or reddit) that low and lowest cause a slight toe in on the front wheels and could be responsible for some of the tire wear issues people have reported. Now I drive on standard and sometimes use kneel.Kneel is equal to low ride height, lowest is .6 inches below that, I verified on my R1S with a tape measure as a lot of the time I will put it in sport lowest for the pups to jump in and out.

That's a new one. Never heard that before. Did you ask them to show you in writing where it says that because there's a lot of ppl butting running boards and sliders on their Rivians. The only reason I've held off is that I don't like the current options on the mkt.For the very reason of helping to get in/out, I was intending to install running boards but Rivian emphasized, when I took delivery, installing them would negate the battery warranty because the bolts to install the runners would be the same used for the battery. Wondering, did Rivian happen to mention this?
I wasn’t paying enough attention to the could and could nots during the walk-through to ask more about 3rd party running boards negating battery warranty. I plan to send a note to my guide asking for a clarifying statement. That's a new one. Never heard that before. That has been exactly my thought process as well lol.I stopped using the kneel mode worrying about shortening the life of suspension.
A 2nd thought nowadays, maybe I should keep using it because if it's going to fail, I want it to fail before the warranty ends (hopefully all 4) and ensure I have a long way to go after the the warranty.
kinda silly thinking .. but not too bad thinking ..?
sameI've been using kneel mode for about 11 months and 15 days now ~12 k on the odometer. No issues.
This is actually a great point…no reason to go extra easy on it so it outlasts the warranty and then (potentially) fails…Been using it for 8 days since I got the R1T. It’s fantastic for short wife and little kids. Don’t be afraid to use the features, there is a warranty for a reason.
