Water is somehow entering the structure of the top hatch (from rain, car washes etc). When I open the hatch water pours out through the interior trim and into the car. It is very exciting. The water ingress also seems to have shorted out one of my turning indicators.

Has anyone else had this problem? I added to an existing scheduled service at Rivian and they are (I hope) addressing.

Yes. Chicago SC found the seal around the brake light at the top of the hatch failed on our R1S.

They replaced the entire hatch. Had it back in about a week even with it going to a 3rd party body shop as the replacement hatch had to painted to match. Paint match and panel alignment was great.

Shout out to Chris and James at Chicago SC for getting it done so quickly and coordinating a loaner.

Check the weather seal (rubber strip) along the top with the rear hatch open. Ours had the adhesive fail and was just hanging there, draped around the hinges. Mobile service came out and glued a new one on... no problems since.

Could also be water getting in and not draining like with the side doors because the drains have stoppers in them. However on the side doors, the water is getting in through the movable windows and into the door.

The hatch has struck again... We had some heavy rains here in Socal (yeah, I know, drought) and then shit hit the fan. Started with some odd noises coming from the air suspension compressor. A a complete failure of the air system followed. Then the drive system stopped working and the vehicle wouldn't go into drive. After Rivian arranged for tow, I started to pull out things that were stored in the rear area and noticed the spare tire well (spare installed two weeks ago) was filled with 4" of standing water. Great.. this explains everything.. and nothing at the same time.
