a really good point about public chargers. I think I am going to put a kit in my car with some swabs and alcohol wipes so I can clean when I use them @ hotels
I finally had the opportunity to use my cleaning swabs on two public fast charging locations. I decided to clean a brand new Tesla V4 station's connectors because I had problems with a different station the day before derating to 35kw. I didn't get to use the same station when I went back the next day but I proactively cleaned a different one (left swab in the picture below) before I started a 72 kWh session. It worked flawlessly. At my next stop on my road trip for a 78 kWh charging session, I also proactively cleaned the connectors (right swab) and had a really solid charging session that lasted 35 minutes with no derating.
