Update!

Very nice. Knowing what you'd said earlier post about every person has his own needs and likes, I do have a question.

The 2nd row mat - the middle seat folds down to allow long items pass through without folding the other two seats.

In other words, if there are 4 occupants, is there a way to make the 2nd row into 3 pieces or be able to cut ourselves (and not look butchered) and have only the middle be foldable part of the mat?

I have taken delivery of your 3 row floor mat but still having problem in my mind with the cargo mat tailgate section being useless. I will have to fold it under the ma so that the tailgate part is not sticking up past the lower gate when closed and be flapping over.

All that said, I do like the look of the 2nd and 3red row mats so hope you make something happen in the next couple of months, as you say to solve the middle 2nd row seat question.

Very cool stuff, LinerX - thanks for your work on this!

The R1S tailgate flap is interesting. I like the idea behind it, to catch dirt and water that would accumulate at the edge. And if you're hauling something dirty, when you close the tailgate, the flap rests between the stuff and the tailgate, which is nice.

The only downside is that yeah, it kind of flops around. A lot of time it flops down and I just set stuff on top of it, which is fine but kind of defeats the purpose. I thought about sticking it to the tailgate somehow, but there are problems with how it moves around as you open and close. I wonder if magnets would work.

My question too - the core use case I have is to have the 3rd row seats down and the desire to put wet things in the back without risk of leaking into the cargo area or carpet. For example, I would put ski boots back there pretty often in the winter. It would need to be one piece that covers the entire area and has a lip around the edge - at least an inch tall, maybe two. To confirm, does the installation require you to have the cover for the rear sub trunk in its low position vs installed on the upper lip which would allow creation of a completely flat load floor? Can you post a pic looking in from the rear hatch as well? I'm also assuming that the mats for 2nd and 3rd row are attached with some sort of velcro? Thanks.

Yes, both positions, whether lower or raised up, work. Our back cover mat requires the 3rd row to always be folded down, and you can remove it when you need to put the seats back up. For the 2nd, 3rd row, we will provide a hook and loop fastener. You can attach it according to your preference.

Thanks for the reply. The portion that is closest in the above picture is item https://linerx.com/collections/all/products/linerx-cargo-liner-for-rivian-r1s (rear cargo mat) that covers ONLY the space behind the 3rd row. The area underneath that has a cover that covers the accessories and spare tire storage area. It can be positioned on a lip just behind the third row to allow for a completely flat floor. Does the rear cargo mat allow the cargo cover to be positioned in that way? Without it, there appears to be a step at the 3rd row which makes sliding in long items difficult or using it as a sleeping area. Thanks!
