As I start looking for a used Rivian, what should I avoid and look for? I know the R1T will be cheaper than the R1S.. so I am leaning towards the R1T. Or should just keep saving money and wait for the R2 to come out? I currently drive a 2020 Mazda CX5. So I like the idea of a small SUV, but I have no problems with a truck. This will be our first leap into EV.

Things I know in rank order right now.
1 biggest battery I can get for the lowest cost
2 black interior (I don't want the ocean coast)
3 exterior color. I don't really want red or white.
4. Prefer under 50k miles

I have been saving money and I'm almost ready to pull the trigger. I have been lurking on this forum and reddit.

I am in KS and I'm willing to fly/train to any location. Thanks for your guys input.

A large pack dual motor truck will probably be the best bang for your buck. The max pack is larger, but disproportionately more expensive. Your color preferences should be doable, as silver paint is and black mountain interior are the "free" colors.

You'll also want to consider wheels/tires. There are a lot more tire options for the 20" wheels. If you swap out the AT tires for highway tires, you may be able to top the range of the 21" wheels. Otherwise, the 21" wheels are the "free" option on the R1T and are likely to be the least expensive/most popular.
