I've gone through this.......Rivian says truck is "operating as intended" and had me reset my phone. PaaK worked for the first try, then never worked again. While I was standing at the service center. They confirmed "working as intended". As best I can tell, "intended" is synonymous with "poorly" or "not at all".

It a crap system, that's a poor design choice that is WAY more sizzle than steak. Considering Rivian is built as an "adventure vehicle" it arguably doesn't even fit the ethos of the company.
100% agree with you. Is a crap System.
5 years with 2 different tesla and ZERO issue. Rivian NEVER work for me. Iphone16 PRO and Iphone16 PRO Max.

I have an iPhone 14 and a Gen 1 R1T. Until the last update proximity unlocking was inconsistent and mostly required me to physically pull the phone out close to the door handle. The iPhone 14 was specifically mentioned in the latest update. I got the update yesterday. What I am seeing after only a few data points is a significant i crease in responsiveness. Hope it’s not a mirage….

For two years of ownership my experience has been that there is a delay and often I have to set whatever I’m holding down and tap the screen on my phone which seems to wake up both the phone and the car. Been same for 3 iPhones and I have deleted the old paaks when setting up the new ones. Even if I unlock the phone and use the app to unlock the car it sometimes takes 5-10 seconds to wake up and unlock. I’ve just gotten used to this and try to be proactive and have a hand and my phone handy so I can unlock it when I am getting close to the car.

I gave up on making PaaK work. During my last trip to the SC, I bought a fob. That seems to work much better.

My experience is hit-or miss. Most times the phone works great, but sometimes I have to press and hold the driver's side door handle for about 5 seconds. That usually works. When that fails, I open it with a shortcut on my Apple Watch (hat tip to this video).

Still not as robust as my prior Tesla experiences. Hope this gets improved with further software updates.

My PAAK worked flawlessly until a few updates ago. Now it is around 50%. I generally keep my phone in my front pocket and if I reach in my pocket and touch my screen to wake it up that works 9 out of 10 times, so for the last 5% total it still doesn't open. For that I need to pull the phone out, open the app and press the unlock button. That hasn't failed me yet, but still wondering why they broke so many things a few updates back. They're getting as bad as Tesla in that regard.

Other new issues since then - when I hit the seat HVAC button it almost always defaults to heat even though it may be 100F outside. It was smarter than that before. Also, I listen to Spotify most of the time. Now many times when I get in the truck the last song that I was listening to freezes up and I can't restart it. I need to open up the audio menu, hit a new playlist or the same one I was listening to and then press play to start a new song. This is in addition to the worst problem with Spotify playlists - if I listen in one vehicle using shuffle (which I almost exclusively use) then switch to my phone or other vehicle I will rehear the same songs that I heard the last time I listened to Spotify. I sometimes need to click through dozens of songs to get to something I didn't recently hear.

I use the key fob and noticed a lag recently. Tried a reset, but didn't improve. Then I replaced the key fob battery and now it works great again.

It can be a phone setting too. My 2025 model Y has the same issue from time to time as my 23 R1T. I wonder how often the Bluetooth scans. Apple is always trying to find ways to save power. I noticed my Apple IPhone 16 seems to scan about every 10 seconds or so.
