It would be super fun if we could input any sounds we'd like (well, almost) AND be able to turn them on or off. SIGH...but that will never happen--too many opportunities for abuse.

I don’t know what people are talking about you can hear the sound in most YouTube videos when the truck is doing the 0-60 tests. It’s a spaceship style woosh.

I think the reason most people don’t “hear” it is the sound is designed to sound like something your brain thinks an electric car would sound like. So you write off the artificial noise as a “real” noise not something artificially added in

They can't make it user programmable (in the US), Tesla has already had a forced (by regulation) recall on this. They were also forced to physically send out recall notices for OTA updates that had already happened/fixed.

And yes, playing Mr softee ice cream sounds while driving around the neighborhood WAS nice. To be fair though, it was for a COVID graduation car parade w/ police escort.

So this is a long thread, and maybe I missed it, but has anyone noticed that their R1T makes any sound at all? I've had mine for a few weeks now, and I can't detect anything. I guess I'm one of the few that is actually looking for this feature, since I'm tired of dealing with people walking right in front of me in my early model (silent) model 3.

Yes, it definitely plays white noise at low speed. I think it fades out around 20mph. If you roll your windows down and drive in a residential area with no music playing you should hear it.
