I was recently gifted a magnetic Snostrip. Figured it would be useless on the aluminum R1T, but I tried slapping it on and to my surprise it stuck on the bed!

As expected, the magnet did not stick anywhere else on the vehicle, but I find it interesting that the panel that forms the bed and part of the roof appears to be steel on my 2024 Gen1.

That area is an aluminum/steel alloy, and everything else you see here is too as it's a one-piece stamping.

the problem is that all of the doors including the gear tunnel (I'm pretty sure) are aluminum and not a steel alloy. There's very little of this notoriously monstrous panel that is exposed at surface level, other than the rear fender area.

But why would you lean your skis, flyrod, bikes, etc against the door? It seems the R1 was designed just for this. Thanks OP, I may have to get one!

Edit: their site has a banner with 20% off code supposedly ending tonight (no affiliation).

Awesome thanks for confirming! I think I'm going to get the BougeRV product instead as it includes a support for a mountain bike as well, which will also be useful for me.

There's also some similar 3D print models out there, or maybe just cut some slots in a scrap of wood.

R1S rear quarter panel is the same. A few threads re: folks putting their HOV stickers on magnets to avoid permanently sticking them on.
