Main display cover art resolution

For such a tech-driven automobile software company, why is Rivian's cover art on the main center display such low resolution? Album covers have really low resolution, very blurry. I have a BMW i5 that has a crystal clear display with much higher resolution with the same cover art displayed. Is it just me?

Where is the album art coming from? Are you using one of the streaming apps on the vehicle itself, or is the album art coming from a phone over Bluetooth?

I do the latter (local music files on my phone), and album art is nice and high-res (when I have a nice image file linked to the song in question, some album art is just low-res...)

FYI, many album art sources max out at 500x500, as that was a standard established long ago.

Album art does not necessarily come from the streaming app. Some apps look up the album on a seperate server to display the cover art.

True! But in this case, the app is relaying the art from that server to the vehicle.

What explains the high resolution I get on my 2024 BMW i5 display? I stream music via Apple Music app and TV via YouTube TV from my iPhone 16 in both vehicles.

I use Apple Music and I’ve never noticed low res album art..hmm
