Here's what TWraps had to say:

3) Speaker grill - I saw that on the Rivian forums but to be honest I don't think it will work out that great and likely not worth the effort to design... let me elaborate:

a) Installing PPF dry never produces beautiful results (too many air gaps). Installing it wet on that area can damage your speakers.

b) If we go for a solid piece, the sound quality will defoliate.

And to make all the whole match perfectly (assuming anyone can actually install it in a way that they match actually) would require too long to map them, test etc.

Even if I did take the time to do it, then the plotter won't be able to cut it precisely as these holes are too small.

/End Quote

The struggle is real!

So, Here's my Rev-B: Shelf liner held in place with two-sided tape. Needs a little trimming, but we'll leave that for Rev-B/2.

The shelf liner appears to hold on to the two-sided tape much better than the felt did, so I'm confident it should stay in place at speed with the windows open.

I'l take it for a ride later and let those of you who care, know how it works.

I just noticed the typo "defoliate" ? I meant to say deteriorate, not sure how defoliate came to be lol.

PS I will probably be taking all these speakers off in the coming days as I have tons of rattles that are driving my OCD crazy. If these end up being just clip ons, powder coating them or similar might actually work, not sure as I don't have experience with paints but sounds plausible.

Rev-B results: Huge success!

Rev-B = black perforated shelf liner (Walmart bought Easy Liner Select Grip) using 3m two-sided tape on the straight parts of the perimeter of the speakers.

If you look really, really, REALLY hard, you can see the faint reflection of the speaker grills. In no way does it stand out while driving. Ta-Dah!!

The struggle isn’t real and the “solution” takes away from the beauty of the grilled. Hopefully you have calmed down now.
