Oh man!! I’m excited for you guys!! Early deliveries for the May-June group that’s great. Since reading your post, I’ve been checking my emails every hour. LoL

The vehicle I’m replacing needs new tires and the registration is due May 10th. It would be great not to invest in the vehicle and/or pay the registration.

Hopefully the El Segundo, CA distribution center receives a lot of Launch Green R1Ts. ?

I just received an email with basically the same options! Holding out for OC.
Same here, but my delivery is late September, according to my Guide.

Are you a September window or a May/June before this contact? If May June that would suggest some kind of significant delay.

Can you share the usual info: initial order date, delivery window, R1T/R1S, config, wheels, date of original guide contact, location? Hard to parse what your message indicates without it. Thanks.

I had an expected May-June delivery date. I spoke to my guide for the first time today. She confirmed my configuration, then asked if I could take delivery sooner. “Uhh yes please”! I asked if we were talking about April or what. She says, “nope more like, before the end of March, or next week”. Well hot damn!

I made made my preorder for the R1T Launch Edition in Launch Green November 2020. She said my configurations matches a batch getting ready for final inspection

Update to my original post after my initial Rivian Guide Meeting on 3/21! Please refer to the Blue comments below.

Hi All,

Thanks to everyone posting information on this forum, especially what to expect for the May/June delivery window folks. It has been really helpful seeing everyone's experiences from around the country. I flew out to San Francisco in January 2020 to attend the Mill Valley event to see the vehicles in person, but I have not had a chance for a test drive. I have stated in a chat with Rivian that I would be willing to travel to a close by event for a test drive, but haven't received an invitation. There was recent test drive event in Atlanta I would have definitely gone to, but from what I've read, there are folks that live in Georgia that didn't even receive an invitation.

After the price increase (my order went to ~$94K, but the pricing has now been corrected as of 3/18), I was scrambling to see where I was on my Ford Lightning pre-order. I had a very early pre-order number, but it was up to the dealerships around me for the number of allocations they were getting. I prefer the R1T for its uniqueness and size, but I was open to take the first available vehicle.

I was happy to receive an unexpected email from my assigned Rivian Guide yesterday 3/18 who reached out for an invitation to setup a call to discuss my R1T preorder (Monday 3/21 evening). My pre-order has been locked for modification so I have to contact my guide for any changes. I believe I'm good with all of my current choices, but I really want to see the Limestone paint in person so I can make a solid decision on Rivian Blue or Limestone.

Location: Florida
Launch Edition R1T Preorder Date: November 2019
Specs: Rivian Blue | Ocean Coast | 22" Sport Bright
Options: Full-Size Spare | All-Weather Floor Mats | Gear Tunnel Shuttle | Cargo Crossbars | Bike Mounts | Wall Charger

The current questions I'll have for my guide will be:

- What's the expected delivery timeframe now that contact has been made?
I was offered the option of switching to the Black Mountain interior from Ocean Coast, which would move my delivery up to the end of March, but I decided to stay with the Ocean Coast since I've already been waiting this long! The delivery window is still May - June.
- Will I have a chance to see different colors in person before I solidify my build choices?
No, if I change my color, it will push out the delivery window. The timeframe that has currently been established is for your configuration so changing it will most likely change the delivery date.
- How much time do I have to make my changes before it's locked for submission to production?
When you get an email to set up a call with the Rivian Guide, your configuration is locked and only the Rivian Guide can make changes. Same comment as above, certain changes could affect your delivery date (i.e. color).
- How much time do I have to look around for different loan options?
I have from now until I get the "transaction" process started notification in May/June to look around for different loan options. Rates can change between now and then so I will wait until it's closer to really narrow options down.
- Will a VIN # be available so I can get quotes for insurance? I doubt this will be available, but I might as well ask.
A VIN # was not available at the time of the first conversation with the Rivian Guide, but the Guide told me that they will send me the number once it's been established.
- When will the subcontractor reach out about install for the Wall Charger and how much will it cost? If I chose to have a different company install it, when will I receive the Wall Charger?
Rivian works with a subcontractor to install the Wall Charger and the Guide said they can send me a link to the subcontractor once the time gets close to delivery. I can then send them a picture of my breaker box and they can give me a quote. I can compare that to other quotes and pick who I want to install the wall charger. The charger will ship about a week to two weeks before the R1T delivery.
- Does the R1T have the ability (hardware) to charge your home due to a power outage? I have asked in a chat and it was confirmed that only a software update was needed, but I'm not confident that's the correct answer. Otherwise, I believe that would be a great feature to advertise since other vehicles have that ability.
The guide did not have much information about this so I'm not confident that the R1T has the hardware installed to "two way charge". I have read the manual before and didn't see anything mentioned either. Sad, but I could be wrong.
- When will I find out what to expect for my trade in value for my current vehicle (2017 GTI Sport).
This is be through the "transaction" process notification when it gets closer to delivery. I also have the option to get a quote through Car Max, Carvana, etc.
- Can the Bike Mounts be used for the bed as well because they are called "Rooftop Bike Mounts"?
You can turn the bike mounts around to use them on top of the truck bed, otherwise the front wheel mount will hit the back window. Not sure why they don't show pictures of both options or cover that topic in the accessories page.
- Can I add addition accessories at the pre-March prices? From the email that received ("Rivian accessories will be available at pre-March 1 pricing", it sounds as such, but I want to confirm.
YES! I added the spare tire and saved $100 so if there is anything that you missed and wanted, now's the time to do it! On another note, I was asked to remove the Gear Tunnel Shuttle since it's not available now (I don't fully understand this because I believe individuals are getting deliveries with the Camp Kitchen, which has them). I asked to make sure that when I purchase it when it's available, that I get it at the pre-March price.
I'll provide an update once I talk with my guide, but again, I appreciate the information others have taken the time to post here and I wanted to share some as well.

I hope the information here helps!

In the same boat. Assigned and spoke to my guide today. Was going through the configuration confirmation and I asked about potentially taking off the off road package and she said "well actually if you keep your configuration as is we can have you in your vehicle next week." So yeah I guess I'm keeping the off road package.

I'm in agreement with a few others that I think they just batched out a bunch of trucks, shipped various configs to service centers and are just grabbing the next person in line that matches to try and deliver as many as possible before the end of the quarter. And I'm totally ok with that.

Oooh man!!! Totally jealous. Wish a guide would contact me with the same news. I also have a Launch Green R1T on order (Oct 2020). Wish they would send more out to California.

Scaling up production...as efficiently as possible.
