My dog taught me something new today....

Yesterday I had to run an errand and one of the dogs insisted on coming for a ride in the R1T. No worries. Since she is a princess, she wants to sit in the front seat. And to stop the chime from chiming because the princess won't wear the seat belt, I buckle the belt up.
After charging the truck last night I was at 85% this morning. But.... I noticed a pump or something was running. Eight hours later my battery is at 79%. It is in the "camp" mode.
My clue should have been the cabin temperature was 72 degrees, and it is HOT today.... As it turns out, when the seat belt is fastened, even though there is no weight on the seat, the truck thinks a passenger is still in the vehicle and the AC keeps running..... All the time. Ten minutes after I unfastened the seat belt the AC went off.....

Yeah you can't leave the seatbelt clipped in.. The truck doesn't sleep.

Use the built-in restraints vs. seat belts and you’re good. If it’s belted, though, you’ll have the same problem.

You can leave the back belts belted it's only on the front seats that it's applicable.

Doesn't apply to my back seat. I have had a car seat in for 17 months and been fine.

Next thing the dog will do is lift its butt off the seat while reversing and the truck will go into park. That will require a new thread!

Imho still a dumb decision on Rivian's part. And with no warning or notification, to boot. I've never hooked up a car seat in my life, but apparently there's separate attachment points behind the back seats. Oh, and you're not supposed to buckle a car seat in the front seat? Who knew? Maybe people with kids, I hope. LOL. ??

Same thing happened to me.. Cabin temp went down to 50 F.
