The significant test would be to charge at a non Magic Dock location. It's obvious that it will work at the Magic Dock ones. The adapters are little more than a pass through for the connections.

I'm guessing Rivian will do it like the Chargpoint integration. You opt in on the app for Tesla and the link is added to your account.

Agreed. That test just showed that the adapter works, not that you can charge at other non magic dock superchargers.

It's useful information, though. It supports the hypothesis that the the untethered Tesla adapters will truly be dumb passthrough devices--there was a lot of speculation that there might be some Tesla hocus pocus that would only let you use the official Tesla adapters. They may still surprise us, but I'm reassured that these 3rd party adapters will work.

A2Z EV is apparently already shipping.

Some people showed the A2Z adapter working at various locations :

This is very promising
I'm not surprised at all that it works at a station that's already got a magic dock, nor at some third party that's implemented NACS since that's just straight CCS. Lets see it working at a Tesla station you wouldn't normally be able to charge at today.

Perhaps someone with a Tesla and non-Tesla can trick the stations into working with the adapter to charge the non-Tesla? No idea how the Tesla app works normally though.

Lots of threads about this. Until Tesla’s network officially open to Rivians, any adapter given or bought is a paper weight. If you don’t want to follow forum closely, at very least follow official Rivian channels. Anything not announced by them didn’t happen.

Will Rivian provide this to the owners or the owners will have to buy them?
I contacted my Guide and here is the response.

Good morning Eric! All good questions-- at last update, I was informed that Rivian would be providing customers the NACS adapter at no additional cost. Also, it is estimated that the adapter will be made available in 2024-- no set date or time has been announced though. To my understanding, you must use the Tesla app when charging on the Tesla Supercharging network.
