The article doesn’t say it’ll cost $181K. It says “…well over the price of the £150,500 (about $181,000) Cayenne Turbo GT”. Considering this, the high prices of options on new Porsches, and the fact that it’s 4-5 years away, I’m calling this a $200-$250K vehicle.

The vehicle they’ve described is an R1S (at best) at double the price, in five years. This makes R1S’s (and R1T’s) look like a bargain, especially considering that they’re in production and we’re driving them right now!

Longer Porsche's are ugly IMO. The R1S is a crisp design that doesn't look like it's based on a smaller vehicle.

That said I would factory order a Taycan before I would buy a model S plaid.

Comparison to R1S is apples to oranges comparison. Yes they both (will) have off road capability, just as both apples and oranges are fruits.

Better comparison is against Urus or DBX707 or even Purosangue. I expect all of those will be EV about the same time as the Porsche. As for the 3rd row, if the image is anything indicative of their design, it will be place to set a bag of groceries more than for people.

Cayenne starts around 70K. I don't think VW wants Porsche to compete with Bentley. Turbo GT top spec, sure.

I expect versions around 100K, and will likely be based on the EV equivalent of
Q7.
