New R1T is actually 10 months old

My wife bought me a new R1T for Christmas. (yes she's a keeper). Picked it up last week but just noticed today on the door sticker it was manufactured in February of this year. Has this truck been sitting for ten months? Has anyone else seen something like this? Loving the truck. Its an amazing vehicle.

Well, its got a full warranty, that's all that matters. Something was probably needing cosmetic repairs at some point (they all seem to). Don't look for anything and just enjoy it.

Yes, that has happened to several people. Usually through R1 shop purchases I believe. Some people are upset about it, others not so much. Personally as long as the truck is in good shape I would just enjoy it and focus on planning an extra nice thank you for your very thoughtful wife

She purchased it through the R1t Shop. It had 32 miles on it. Didn't think much of it at the time. Sort of a surprise for me so didn't get a chance to research the pickup process. Loving the truck. Biggest issue is the steering wheel isn't centered when driving straight. Its going in next month for that.

During the huge push earlier in the year, many R1's that were rejected at the manufacturing level, were parked on the plants lot until the parts were available to repair it. Well... a lot of those vehicles sat for a while, because all the parts were going into new builds. This could have been a defect, or the wrong interior installed or multiple things. If it drives good and you are happy with it, I wouldn't worry about.

My F150 was delivered to my house with 450 miles on it. Probably driven by the dealers owner or owners wife before I got it. Still sold as new, of course.

I would not be concerned, most people never thought about this when purchasing vehicles from dealers and that is normal. The shop really is not much different than dealer stock.

There is no real rhyme or reason to how the vehicles are pulled from the factory lot.

Agree with others - don't worry about it and enjoy the heck out of your new truck! Do you have a 12v outlet under the center dash? I think they removed that from production right around February, so you may be lucky in that regard.

We have 2024 Taycans on the lot and I just prepped one that is a 2023 that was shipped from Germany last January. You're ok, the warranty start date is the day it's delivered to you.

Not surprised it was a Shop vehicle as Rivian was still selling 2022 VIN's in Sept of this year (yes, you can check the forum if you like) without disclosing that little bit of vital info to purchasers.

We really need a Sticky somewhere warning people regarding the little Shop tricks Rivian plays.

Shouldn't matter at all, has happened plenty of times.

Most likely had some issues that needed reworking at the factory. May have been a parts issue as someone else mentioned. Warranty starts when you took delivery not when it was manufactured.
