I got an invoice for my last Rivian service center visit a week or two ago. Of course, I didn't pay anything so the balance was zero. It didn't even mention parts or labor. There was something called a "harshness package". There was at least one part that wasn't in the invoice, a 200-pound "drive unit" (motor), which I had to wait days for. And there must have been some labor, because it got in the car somehow. I wonder why the motor wasn't listed in the invoice. I'd like to know what it cost.

Sometimes I wonder if that is to game the system to avoid a recall if the nhtsa audits, if there is no record it was never replaced.

The thing I was looking at was the estimate invoice. The actual invoice started on page 7. The parts and labor are listed there. There was something I'm wondering about. It says "no oil present in the rear drive unit gearbox". I imagine there's supposed to be oil in it. I've never seen any fluid on or under my truck of any kind, so I wonder how it leaked out. The alternative is that it never had oil in it. The invoice has 13 pages. I can post it if anyone is interested.

The under tray catches all the oil and then it seeps out at the edges when it rains as that is where the bed drains on r1t. On mine it was leaking from the tiny little gasket on the rear disconnect, poorly installed from the factory. I ended up drilling a small hole in the under tray low spot so water doesn't pool there and if it leaks again I will know much earlier.
