No trouble in soft sand with my QM R1S

Hello everyone, I just want to take a moment to appreciate how well Rivian handles off road in sand dunes.

Last Saturday I made a trip to Glamis, didn't know what to expect but by the end of the day I was really impressed how well Rivian can handle itself in the sand.

At one point I managed to make it stuck while fooling around in Drift mode, but switching into Soft Sand mode made it find traction and get itself unstack. Didn't even have to use those fancy recovery boards I brought with me.

I think we all know how well quad motor could handle itself, but you really have to experience it for yourself. There is no drama, no ABS clicking and jerking to find traction, no revving of an engine. The whole thing almost too easy for Rivian.

I am planning to make a separate thread for this in coming days, the project took a few months to complete. Now that it actually worked for couple hours I'm more confident sharing it.

It was a lot of fun, and I am gonna make one more trip before Easter probably. Maybe we can have a small group going there?

Also, based on my power consumption I estimate I would have around 4 hours of play time before needing to head back to El Centro to recharge. This is with quad motor, large pack.

Thanks for the update on your Glamis experience. In for light details. I've been three times in the R1T (never in our R1S), but for those that know Glamis, you can easily climb Olds Hill with air'd down tires. In fact once you get through the whoops, it accelerates up.
