Customer service always tells people they won't be delayed, and multiple times they were wrong. Only thing you can do is sit back and wait to see when they start pumping out adventure trims.

Really bad news for most (all?) of us currently (as of late March 2022) in the Oct-Dec delivery window. Only ~15k R1 vehicles this year. :(
I can't say I'd be surprised with a push from Q4 2022 to 1H 2023 but maybe that's because I thought it was pretty likely from the start. A delay longer than that would really hurt. But it's not like there's much recourse for me anyway, I wouldn't be able to get an electric truck alternative prior to 2024 by my estimation so Rivian would still most likely deliver the soonest. I'm not hopeful on an 800v architecture switch but maybe there's an upgrade to the tonneau cover design by then.

I actually think Rivian is going to switch relatively quickly (within a year or two) to the new in-house motor and 800v architecture. Given that I'd like to keep my R1T for at least 5 years, a delay deep into 2023 for my 400v R1T starts to make me uncomfortable.

As I've previously posted, assuming Rivian lets me use my existing preorder (not the pricing) to reserve an 800v R1T, I may go that route if my delivery window moves to 2H 2023.

If I get pushed to 2H 2023 delivery, I'm hoping they'll give me an in-house, quad-motor, 1200hp option on 800v architecture. I imagine the whole point of the in-house motor design/production is to reduce costs instead of relying on Bosch. Streamlining production so that all vehicles use the same motors, whether dual-motor or quad-motor, makes sense in my head...

I hope you're correct but I don't see both 800v architecture upgrade and in house quad motors on on sale in any meaningful way in 2023, maybe by 2025. Everything should be twice as long as they think considering how much of an impact a single lockdown in China can have on supply chains. I'll put the disclaimer here, I'm no product manager or supply expert but with the delays they're currently experiencing it doesn't seem likely for everything to completely change in about 12 months.
At least with Bosch off the shelf motors they're leveraging Bosch's scale and agreements with suppliers. With the supply chain issues not drastically improving next year I'd imagine it more difficult to move a significant portion of this sort of production in house. Additionally there are 2 "mainstream" EVs on sale with 800v architecture in Hyundai/Kia. 3 If you count Porsche but I hesitate to do so considering the starting price. From what I recall reading its not likely the ground up EV Ford Lightning redesign will even be 800v. The majority of EV buyers don't know what 800v architecture is and there's simply not enough infrastructure accross the US to sustain the benefits even if Rivian is able to get it into production.

So CS states they are on track but a delay is very probable. What is everyone’s thought as to how long we will get pushed back?

This is progress I guess, admitting there's at least a probable chance of delay instead of crickets up to until halfway through October. I'd guess Q2 2024 and be happy if its Q1.

Just replying here becuase I also have an Oct-Dec 2022 delivery window. I am super excited that I got my First Mile drive scheduled for April 13th and I wonder if that puts anyone closer to delivery?

Nope. I actually had my test drive at my house in December. That said, I do have a Q3 delivery for an R1S. Not hopeful on them keeping their timing promises

The best part is that it'll change Rivian from a thought exercise to something that's tangible for you.

On one hand people in Oct-Dec are in the first probably 50-60k which actually isn't that much if they are able to ramp, the real problem is the supply chain. So if those supply constraints are resolved they could definitely in theory pump out cars very quickly(once Oct-Dec cars come in realistically it'll probably be really fast for the next 25k to come in), I guess is my point. But that's kinda all contingent on the supply chain issues being less of an issue, and depends greatly on which ones are prevalent.
