Yea, I don't have a lot to add. I signed my PBA after my intro call w/ my guide over the weekend. The guide interaction was delightful; and Ihung up feeling like I have a guide that can and will advocate on my behalf. The big question of when, was answered clearly, and to my satisfaction.I think he might be implying that he and his wife are both taking delivery shortly.
yeah I'm trying to understand if the did a big batch of trucks without a certain option that are getting distributed to later pre-order holders as a result. Multiple people in LA have taken delivery or have had guide calls that ordered after me.For those of you who have been bumped way up, do you have the underbody protection selected as an option? I'm wondering if those are the trucks being prioritized right now
I did get underbody protection but FWIW my guide did confirm that living in proximity to multiple service centers means there are more trucks getting delivered to a specific area which is likely why a lot of us got bumped up.yeah I'm trying to understand if the did a big batch of trucks without a certain option that are getting distributed to later pre-order holders as a result. I mean I'm not complaining (yet) because so many Launch Edition reservations haven't been filled, but seeing people with OCT-DEC delivery estimates getting prioritized over JULy-SEPT is starting to get really annoying.
yeah - I live in Los Angeles so I figured that would be an advantage, but not so far.I did get underbody protection but FWIW my guide did confirm that living in proximity to multiple service centers means there are more trucks getting delivered to a specific area which is likely why a lot of us got bumped up.
Yep i have underbody protection. For those of you who have been bumped way up, do you have the underbody protection selected as an option? I'm wondering if those are the trucks being prioritized right now
I don't doubt this is the case, but my guide specifically said to me "when your config rolls off the line, it's yours" which made it sound like my order is being allocated at the factory and not at my local service center. Perhaps the fact that I am close to a service center that can take more trucks means they assign the truck to me at the factory.I did get underbody protection but FWIW my guide did confirm that living in proximity to multiple service centers means there are more trucks getting delivered to a specific area which is likely why a lot of us got bumped up.
Hmm, yeah that seems like it conflicts with the idea that Rivian just ships a bunch of common config trucks to service centers and then allocates them from there.Yep i have underbody protection.

Right, obviously just one data point from my guide and it could have just been a figure of speech, but I think it's a likely scenario.Hmm, yeah that seems like it conflicts with the idea that Rivian just ships a bunch of common config trucks to service centers and then allocates them from there.
Can you define "a lot?" Where does it fall on the spectrum of large quantities? Is that somewhere between a "shit-ton" and a "fuck-ton," or is on more on the order of magnitude of a "butt-load?"Oh another thing my guide mentioned that is interesting. He said that Rivian is about to ship a lot of trucks in May/June.
Edit: Spelling
The intonation sounded like it landed closer to "shit-ton" on a relative scale to what they're already delivered. Can you define "a lot?" Where does it fall on the spectrum of large quantities?
