Hello my dudes!
Today we’re rolling out some updates to the OpenSourceEV phone mount lineup that a lot of folks have been asking about. If you’ve been living with our mounts and holders already, or if you’re still figuring out which setup makes the most sense for your Rivian, these changes are all about flexibility - both at purchase and many miles down the road.
This is the first of four New or Improved product announcements that I'll be making over the next few weeks. Let's get going!
What's New:
Updated Ball Mounts (v4.5)
We’ve refined the EVO Phone Mount and NextGen Phone Mount with new, more contoured ball mounts in. The profile is slimmer, and the articulation has been increased - giving you nearly 20 degrees more movement up and down and side-to-side. That extra range makes dialing in your position much easier once you’re in the driver seat.
What hasn’t changed:
New: OSEV Charging Phone Holder
Many of us want a magnetically attached phone on the dash and a way to charge it without fuss. The new OSEV Charging Phone Holder does just that. It attaches directly to our mounts using the 17mm system we’ve standardized, and we’ve validated the fit and function so you’re not stuck guessing whether things align.
Why we like it:
If your goal is magnetic on-dash mounting and wireless charging that just works in a Rivian interior, this is a great, inexpensive way to get there.
This is available stand alone, or bundled with our mounts, starting at around $25. It's shipping right now, and you can find it here:
New Upgrade Kits – Keep Your Options Open
Not sure which mount style or ball size you want? Or do you tend to change things up over time? We now offer Upgrade Kits as a product option:
These kits are just $4 when added at the time of a phone mount or adapter purchase, or $8.95 separately. The are available now as an option when purchasing a phone mount, or stand alone products. You can see them here:
If you have questions about fitment, compatibility, or what makes sense for your setup, drop them below! Happy to help!
