I’ve got a gen 2. Will the drop in replacement fit those as well?

It will not. Rivian decided to bundle the card reader with the wireless charger, and we're not going to offer a version that requires someone to still have the POS wireless charging husk in there to just drive the car.

I was toying around with the idea of creating a harness to relocate the wireless charger in the center console and pull the power off of it for a 'real' wireless charger, but have decided against it as I don't think it's going to be remotely popular or commercially viable.

This should really be something that Rivian has fixed by now considering RJ has stated multiple times that they would.

I'm sorry. :(

Bummer. I reeeeally like your design and have tried multiple times with others that just sit on top of the existing pad. They’re oooook if my multiple Amazon pucks would fit them. And then it’s about getting the print to come out right in the first place. I guess the gen 2 mat is alright, maybe an improvement but I have not personally experienced them side by side.

I know, my dude, and I'm sorry about this. There are literally people still using the OG version since I started producing them in late 2022. (Same deal with the phone mounts and tablet mounts, btw)

It's probably not what you're looking for, but if you want to try something super simple, you may want to give this a go: https://www.printables.com/model/367488-opensourceev-magsafe-charging-mat-for-rivian-r1t-r

You can print it for basically nothing if you have a 3D printer, and the holes can be easily resized should you have a different dimension puck. It's what I was evaluating as an alternative to the Gen 1 pad.
