Now that I can see the battery and motor temps does anybody know the optimal temp for best performance? I thought Kyle Connor said 70 degrees for the battery, but not sure.

70 degrees is pretty much the minimum for optimal performance. Really needs to be around 90 F for maxing it out.

This is why I thought making those temperatures available was a little too much. Most of us don't know what normal or ideal is. Overanalyzing data that we don't know. Odds are, if its near the middle of the gauge, or on the lower end, and there are no errors, its probably fine.

Educated guess probably somewhere in the 170F range? Off-roading I'd occasionally hear the truck trying to cool them but didn't have temp gauges back then.

My battery just got up to 94 degrees on a 4 mile trip with top speed of 55mph. So optimal battery temp is likely higher. 38 degrees outside this morning. Motors quickly get to 95-100 degrees.

Were you navigating to a charger? My 20 mile trip started with battery temp at 50 F and ended at 54 F. Low 40 F outside this morning.

Short trip (12 miles) and I saw as high as 132F for the front motors. Of note, I was surprised at how front-biased the truck is in All Purpose. Not just regen (which ends at 100% front when stopping), but acceleration as well.

Also seems to have that bias in sport until you really get into the pedal.

Yeah, I had a 20-mile start and end between 62-67. Motors got up to ~100 by the end, though.

Cold temperatures on all the short trips. Maybe one of the reasons why short trips tend to have such poor efficiency.

I'm eager to do my test loop up Cypress Mountain in Vancouver and back down with the new update. I know the motors are going to start to get toasty on the uphill portion, but what I want to see is a correlation between regen limits imposed on the decent and battery temps/motor temps to see If I can find the culprit.

Personally I think it's little more than software taking it easy on the batteries during long descents at above 70% SOC.

We will learn....just like we all know proper temps in our Off Road pages on our Wranglers I see you have. I watch that a fair amount when we are tackling rock crawling, etc... in that thing.
