Options and extras?

I would like a spare wheel as well as a tow hitch for my R1T. Does anybody know how much these and other options might be? Are these anywhere on Rivian's website?

Just spoke with Emily at Rivian, cost of spare wheels have not been released yet, and all Rivians will come with tow hitches as standard.

Why? So your boots are warm when you put them on?
There is suppose to be a 12v port in there. So, you good add your own low volt heater. (usually heaters are something I do not mess with for fear of overload / fire)

They make "heated gear" you can plug in, if you want (popular with motorcyclists and snow-sports enthusiasts).

For more casual use, "HotHands" and similar one-time-use products are inexpensive and effective.

I'm sure people in warmer climates would also appreciate a cooled frunk for their groceries. The frunk is Rivian's competitive advantage and they need to make the most of it. My SUV and car trunks are heated and cooled as part of the cabin. At $85k, the more bells & whistles helps justify the price. If you are worried about complexity, you are probably looking at the wrong car... stick with a Toyota Tacoma.

Compared to a spare tire, I would use these features all the time. My 12 year old SUV has never had a flat tire ever. The Tesla has no spare. The compressor is usually enough to get me to the tire center. The repair kit works well for larger holes farther from home. Tesla delivers space tires in about an hour.

If you think the Frunk — which basically every EV has — is Rivian’s competitive advantage, then you must think they’re going to fail.

Just as an example, the Hummer frunk is better than the Rivian frunk, since it does not require reaching over the top to put stuff in.
