I recently requested to have my truck updated to 21" tires (to match my new 275/60/20 diameter) and add it to an existing ticket. Rivian service just called and said they've forwarded to the tire team who is attempting an OTA update for it. They'll reach out again once it's successful or if they need to schedule me to come in.

Has anyone else heard about this as an OTA update? If so, ???

Currently waiting on same request. Service advisor is supposed to call me tomorrow to check if the OTA wheel configuration changes.

Whether it works or not, at least its an indicator they are working on “touchless” alternatives. Date to dream indeed…

Eventually I'd like to see Rivian add the ability to change this like Tesla did. Given the range impact I imagine more than a few folks will want to swap wheels at least once or twice a year.

What about the ability to make tire size changes on screen. Should be do-able if several possible tire sizes were options in the service screen so the owners could change as needed

If I was a software engineer at Rivian, I would’ve suggested the following:

Inside the Rivian app, have the ability to take a pic of your new wheel/tire mounted. Then the ML workflow would simply read the tire info off the sidewall and adjust/calibrate the new size on your vehicle. In addition, it will automatically crop the tire/wheel from your photo and update the side view of your vehicle in the app.

IMO, from a customer’s point of view, this would provide a simple, good experience.

OTA wheel update “no go” for me. Rivian support called me today to follow-up to see if the push worked. I also tried resetting the the system to see if that might trigger something. Guess we’ll just have to keep waiting. Hopefully OP has better luck.

They aren't likely to accomodate anything other than factory sizes for regulatory reasons, so a simple selector should be enough.

Welp, add me to the failed OTA group. It's been added to my service next month, I declined mobile service #DSP2021

Same here. I called today and they said they can send it over the cloud and it might take but I would still need to bring the truck in for camera calibration.
