I have it, and I like it. It's not perfect, but for me it adds waze, apple / google maps, voice texting, and streaming a radio station from home that I can't get otherwise. Definitely worth it for me.

Wi-Fi does not stay active when not in park.

I'm pretty sure you can turn it back on though... I've used it to connect my daughter's audio player while driving...
Edit, Nope. I was thinking of the hotspot. Sorry! Hopefully soon, since Tesla has done it already

Pretty sure I just tapped the "hot spot" icon at the top of the screen. Make sure you've set it up before...

Oh! Wait. nah, i'm backwards. sorry! I used the car's hot spot. Not added the car to wifi.

Until they allow WiFi to stay active while driving, you'll be out of luck as far as onboard data options. Or if/when they allow new eSIM options. There's been a few others that have been dealing with it for quite a while. One is in the Caymans and ATT LTE actually worked when he got there, but was subsequently turned off- @Caymanwent

Hi Ingo, I've been in touch with the Rivian connectivity module team for about a year but no luck unfortunately. I sent them an email last week asking to provide a toggle in an OTA update that allows the driver to keep Wifi connection on while not in Park so you can hotspot using your phone. I'd reach out to Rivian too - the more Rivian owners ask about this, the higher up the feature list this item will be (although I have no illusions this is is pretty much at the bottom of prio features since its only an issue for Rivian owners outside of North America).

Thanks for the feedback. I agree that this is something that could easily be resolved by Rivian.
The number of Rivian owners who choose to stay adventurous, per their slogan, will only increase. There is no demand for a full-service setup, simply software modifications that increase the safety of the owners.
