I noticed in the .46 release notes a reference to transferring vehicle ownership under the Clear Settings Heading and there is the page below:'

https://rivian.com/support/article/...-a-rivian-through-a-private-party-transaction

For a Seller, the following is written:

Seller
To complete the transfer of ownership of a secondhand Rivian, please contact the Customer Engagement Center with the following info:

  • 17-digit VIN number
  • Rivian PIN number
  • Name of the buyer (optional)

I own two Rivians and have no idea what my Rivian PIN number is. Does anyone know anything about a Rivian PIN?

How did I miss this?

EDIT: I'm NOT selling. I'm just curious.

I reached out to Chat support and got the following response:

The Pin was set up originally when the vehicle was picked up. I believe your guide should be able to find it for you but the pin isn't really necessary. That step can be skipped if you do decide to sell the vehicle and are doing an ownership transfer. As long as we have the other information.

I don't know about anyone else, but I have no recollection of setting up a PIN for either my R1T or R1S.

Again, I'm not selling, but I was just very curious and I apparently missed out on this PIN setup.

Same. Neither our R1T or R1S purchase process involved setting up a pin.
