Picked up my R2 today!

It is fantastic! Some of my initial thoughts:

• It is a solid build, went through the whole checklist, no issues
• From the drivers seat it doesn't seem that much smaller than the R1S, but in the parking lot it did!
• Phone/watch as a key works perfectly so far
• It drive so smooth, much more refined motors and suspension than my old Gen 1 R1S
• I don't hear any tire noise (I have the 20s), and I did about 20 min on the highway
• I was the 3rd delivery out of Trenton, and the first with the 20 inch wheels
• The seat comfort is... fine! It is a very good seat. I had issues on the test drive with that ridge accross my shoulder blades. It is there, but not as pronounced and it is fine, I barely feel it now. Maybe they adjusted the padding.
• I need to get something for the top of the rear bumper, it will get scratched loading things
• Can't wait for the crossbars to come in, then it will be complete

I agree - the sound system in the car I test drove was very good. Far better than any of the Tesla M3's I have owned (3 of them). Your ride looks great! When do the suggest you will get the cross bars?

No word on crossbars from the Rivian folks, I took them off the order because I didn’t want to pay for something that was delivered day 1, or even has an estimated day of delivery.

By default, when I picked it up, the proximity unlock was off. So make sure to check that if you expect your R2 to lock when you walk away.

Just recently, I found a new song to test out the stereo and show off to people that get a ride in the car. The song is titled BOOM by Tiësto and Sevenn. Play it using the native Apple Music audio app on the Rivian for the best results.

I've had a R1T with the original Meridian sound system for 2 years and never really been that impressed with it. It's sounds OK, but was never something that I was REALLY impressed with and I always wondered what the big deal was that everyone would go on and on about on the original audio system. All my audio is played as relatively high quality rips from my own audio CDs, saved on the iPhone as AAC audio files and then fed to the audio system with Bluetooth. On a suggestion of someone on Reddit, I recently tried this track on the native player on the R1T and it's a night and day difference from Bluetooth audio. This track is available in "Dolby Atmos" format on Apple Music. The bass will shake the truck without distortion, the channel separation is breathtaking. Even playing the same audio track on the Apple Music app on the iPhone and streaming the audio via Bluetooth to the same vehicle yields comparatively lackluster audio. When using the Apple Music app on the Rivian, really, any of the tracks that come through with Dolby Atmos sound amazing!

I don't have the R2 yet, but suspect there would be a similar difference in audio quality using Dolby Atmos on the Apple Music program vs streaming via Bluetooth from a phone.

Try Input Output if you like Deadmau5. Wait for the drop ~3 minutes in. I played it for hopefully my delivery specialist while we were doing a full walkthrough of the software my last demo. She said she’ll play it for anyone that asks about the sound system. LOL

Now I’ll find BOOM by Tiësto. Maybe that will be the song I play every time I have a pint of my homemade, 21% IPA I named BOOM! Like This.

getting Expel PPF on our Launch Green R2 scheduled for delivery 9/28 and found a random Catalina Blue R2 just out of their shop. As my wife had not seen any R2 in person I brought her over for a look see. Conclusion: we are cancelling our Launch Green order and getting the Catalina Cove. Basically Launch Green is very similar to the Juniper forest we live in, so I was thinking how it would blend in. The Catalina Cove is pretty and more contrast on our property. For size comparison that's my 2019 Range Rover.

But you already placed your order for your LG R2 a few days ago. If you cancel now, don't you essentially drop to the end of the line? How does that work? Do you lose your $400 deposit?
